This is my entry for Code for a Cause Jam!

Dino Driver is a wacky racing/runner game! Escape a global extinction event by driving a Dinosaur towards a bunker, perform tricks along the way to boost your turbo meter, and watch your fuel! Traverse country roads, farms,  highways and cities!

All assets, except for the fonts and two sound effects were made from scratch during the course of the game jam.

Controls:

WASD/Arrows/Controller: Move

Space Bar / A button: Turbo

Tips:

- Go through the arrows to speed up

- Avoid dirt patches at all costs!

- If you crash into something, you'll lose your style combo!

- Losing gas is not the end! Keep walking until you find another car.

- If the meteors reach you, keep running! You might be able to escape their menace!

Extra:

- Sprites in this game were made in pixel art and rescaled using the xBR algorithm, that same one from old SNES emulators. They were afterwards edited on Krita to give them the "sticker look". My idea was to experiment with a "paper mario-ish" look.

- Songs were made in FL Studio. I intended to create something "punk rock-y", inspired by the idea of adding "thps-like"  combo tricks in the game.

- I also used Spritemancer to create some of the effects (https://spritemancer.com/)

- This game was made in Godot! <3

Really charming game love the art style a lot, the meteor is a little unforgiving. Great use of the theme :)
