This is my entry for LowRezJam 2023!

I used three optional themes:

• Glitch in the Matrix: Become glitched as you fight to unlock secret skills!
• Cooperation: None of the characters can die, or else the game is over!
• Gotta catch 'em all: By eating your foe's remains, you're able to morph your characters into different classes!

What is this madness?

This is a FF-like mini gauntlet RPG in which you'll be testing your abilities through a randomized series of 3 bosses. Defeat enemies and choose to eat their flesh (or not) to transform your characters!

Green is the healer, Red is the attacker. Strategize around the different skills of the 8 classes in this game to win the gauntlet and be victorious!

And last but not least, THE MOON is killable! Just watch for the signs ;)  

I'm lost! How do I play?

• Each character's turn is defined by the TURN GAUGE, which increases based on their speed. 
• When it fills up, you can select a skill to use. 
• Enemies have their own TURN GAUGES.
• And be wary of a COLOR MARKER right besides their gauge: it indicates who the enemy will attack next!
• Defeat enemies and then choose if you're going to give the enemy remains to a character of your choosing.
• Fill up the glitch gauge to use a special skill once! Each class has their own special ability and they're way more devastating than the regular skills.

Credits

• Game made in Unity, using a general purpose coroutine library called Licht.
• Sound Effects and Music all done by me during the jam period, using FL Studio.
• All visual elements of this game were made by me, including the fonts, during the jam period. I used Aseprite and Spritemancer.

Glossary for Skill Tags:

• FOCUS: Skills that can be interrupted if you're attacked.
• HIDE: Become impervious to damage.
• GUARD: Halves damage taken.
• BREAK: Resets the enemy's TURN GAUGE.
• SNEAK: Ignores counter effects
• COUNTER: Activates upon being attacked.
• AOE: Hits multiple targets.
• AUTO: Has auto-targeting.
